Things to do
NATURE
With its desert scrub, pine forests and rocky peaks, the vast Parque Ecológico Chipinque gives a beautiful snapshot of Mexico’s flora and fauna. You could mountain bike, hike, run or just escape it all and take in the views from the observation decks. If you’re lucky, you may spot vultures, Red-tailed Hawk and Black Bear.
CULTURE
One of the city’s must-see sights is the Parque Fundidora. Once a huge steel factory it’s been transformed into a cultural centre with museums, concert halls and an amusement park. You could catch a movie, browse the photography, or just be inspired by the industrial architecture. Also, make sure you visit the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo to see the latest in Latin American art.
EVENTS
Monterrey loves a party and is home to numerous events. As well as national and religious festivals, there’s Latin America’s largest film festival, an international dance, music and theatre festival, and even a puppet festival for kids. Just ask at your luxury hotel to find out about the latest events.
