LUXURY HOTELS IN Nashville

Introducing Nashville

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Nashville is all Stetsons, cowboy boots and weeping guitars. And music is, of course, a huge part of the city’s identity. But with a history that includes winemaking, thoroughbred horse breeding, and more than a small homage to Ancient Greece, there’s more than one string to its bow…

Things to do

MUSIC
Fondly nicknamed ‘Music City’, Tennessee’s state capital is famous for its performing arts scene. Home to some of the world’s best country and western music, venues range from the unpretentious Station Inn and Bluebird Café to the historic Ryman Auditorium. Visit RCA on Music Row, to see the iconic studios where Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Elvis Presley recorded their music.

LANDMARKS
Belmont Mansion gives visitors a fascinating insight into Nashville’s unique history. For those who like to see things for themselves, a great view of the city and its skyline comes from John Seigenthaler’s bridge. And, just along from the Music City Walk of Fame is – somewhat surprisingly – a life-size replica of Athen’s Parthenon in Centennial Park.

WINE
While Tennessee is arguably best known for its whiskeys, it’s also home to a number of excellent vineyards and wineries. One standout spot is Belle Meade, where tours of the 200-year-old mansion end with tastings. You’ll also get an insight into the building’s fascinating heritage – including its role as the birthplace of world-class racehorses.
