A 1920s private mansion turned boutique hotel in buzzing Bellavista, Santiago
From your first glimpse of Castillo Rojo, you’ll know this boutique hotel promises something out-of-the-ordinary. Built in the 1920s, the Red Castle’s fantastical façade captures the creative energy of that era. Historic Tudor panelling, classical arches and Spanish colonial touches come together to create a bold statement on a peaceful plaza in the heart of bohemian Bellavista.
Inside, there are just as many surprises. From a hacienda-style entranceway, you ascend up to a luxurious lounge. With velvet sofas, wood panelling and crystal chandeliers, it makes a deliciously decadent setting for a coffee or cocktail. Continuing to the upper floors, the authentically designed rooms and suites set a more soothing tone. Each one is individually decorated in warm, natural shades and materials, with carefully selected furnishings that include some vintage pieces.
