Glamour and theatricality in the fashionable Parisian district of Marais
An historic 17th-century building, with an original baker’s shopfront, Hôtel du Petit Moulin is a truly unique residence with flamboyant interiors designed by Christian Lacroix. Reflecting the history, art and culture of this area of Paris, the decoration is both lavish and evocative. Guests enjoy rooms with an unequalled ambience, and the hotel is within walking distance of the Picasso Museum, Place des Vosges and the Opera Bastille.
The atmosphere at Hôtel du Petit Moulin changes from room to room which is very much its charm. From brightly coloured 60s furniture in the bar, and plush textiles, leather sofas and highly decorative walls in the lounge to green corridors with polka-dot carpeting that lead to Baroque, Rococo and Couture designed rooms, it is a fascinating journey through the artistic expertise of Lacroix.Read more[SPLIT]Read less
Close to Hôtel du Petit Moulin are two superb museums. Head firstly to the Musée National Picasso with over 4000 of the artist’s works and then onto the Musée Carnavalet, dedicated to the history of Paris. Further south, towards the River Seine, visit Place des Vosges and Victor Hugo’s house before wandering through Village Saint Paul to discover a wealth of antiques. Return to the hotel for an evening aperitif before dining in one of many good restaurants nearby.
