Environmentally Conscious

Alongside refillable ceramic bottles, sugar cane straws, electric golf carts, a coral propagation programme, and “Say No to Plastic” bags whose proceeds support plastic-free activities of local schools, Pimalai Resort offers nature and wildlife walks around its grounds and organic gardens. Together with the Thai Fishery Department, Pimalai has held the annual clownfish release at Koh Haa for 12 years, a neighbouring archipelago which hopes to soon be recognised as a fish sanctuary.

Cultural Custodians

Just steps away from the Andaman Sea, Pimalai Resort has been designed with both nature and Koh Lanta culture in mind. Island details are woven throughout the interiors, including bird cage lampshades inspired by the local singing contests of the Red-Whiskered Bulbul birds, and a traditional long-tail boat decorating the Rak Talay Restaurant, which gives guests an authentic taste of Koh Lanta cuisine. The resort also organises Thai cooking classes, Muay Thai sessions, and Batik painting with local artists.

Community Minded

Though secluded in its tropical setting, Pimalai Resort fosters a strong sense of community through a number of island initiatives, including beach clean-ups, eco mangrove forest tours with local guides in gondola boats, and recommended visits to artisan stalls and shops in the Old Town. The resort helps to promote Aunty Bee’s Eco Handicraft, a local boutique selling bags made from recycled products, while sourcing all seafood from local suppliers who respect the marine ecosystem.

Go and enjoy - this is the best Hotel I have ever stayed in! Of course our stay got an extra boost as we were upgraded from a basic garden view room to a Pool Villa! It was hard to leave our Villa and go to the beach! All staff friendly, helpful and professional!
