Introducing Hinterzarten

A number of ski jumping’s great names have hailed from the village, and the legendary Adlerschanze jump towers above the valley on a thickly wooded hillside.

Things to do

HISTORY
Hinterzarten was founded in the mid 12th century, but it wasn’t until the 19th century that tourists really began to discover the area’s ample attractions. The ski jumping legacy began with the foundation of Ski Club Hinterzarten and the creation of the Adlerschanze. By the 1960s Hinterzarten was classified as a ‘climatic health resort’, because of the many outdoor pursuits available to the visitor.

SPORT
Naturally, snow sport enthusiasts are well catered for, with a 4-hill ski jumping complex, ski lifts and a cross-country skiing centre. But hiking and bike trails meander across this beautiful region too. You will also be able to enjoy the finest spa treatments at your luxury hotel.

NATURE
The Black Forest provides near endless opportunities to get out and explore, on foot, on skis, on two wheels or via day trips. In addition to the vast swathes of tranquil dark forest, there are mountains, lush meadows dramatic waterfalls and stunning lakes, such as the nearby Titisee.
