Global PR & Communications Assistant

The Position

Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ is seeking a highly-motivated individual as part of its Global Public Relations & Communications team. The brand enjoys an excellent position in the global luxury travel market and this role requires a good understanding of travel and lifestyle industries. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience with a creative flair and excellent written / verbal skills.

Key Responsibilities

The Global PR & Communications Assistant will be responsible for the following initiatives:

Support global PR team to maximise brand awareness in target media

Ensure brand consistency in all PR and marketing activity

Manage and maintain exhaustive global media database tailored to SLH

Support in planning and executing world class media events: standalone, at international trade shows and SLH sales events

Draft compelling copy and upkeep of PR related documents (press releases, press kits, press pitches, round ups)

Attend media meetings with UK based PR team to build network of media contacts (B2B and B2C)

Support PR team to cultivate and maintain beneficial relationships with travel industry partners such as airlines and tourist boards to negotiate complimentary and media rate support

Support the global PR team to coordinate individual media visits across the SLH hotel portfolio

Assist global PR teams to organise and attend group media visits to international destinations

Identify trends and topical news for use proactively and creatively to benefit the SLH brand

Track, analyse and maintain global press coverage & PR reports for distribution internally and to the hotels

Respond to the global day-to-day press enquiries via pr@slh.com and general email and telephone requests including those seeking information and pictures

Oversee content@slh.com inbox for hotel story angles and share with wider PR team

Assist in coordinating targeted advertorials, competitions / reader offers within media titles

Coordinate PR & Communications webinars for hotel members

Research and draft relevant and engaging email communications to hotel members

Draft inspired bi-weekly newsletter for SLH global staff

Desired Skills and Experiences

University Graduate
Two years of relevant experience within PR &/or Marketing division
Interest in luxury, hotels and travel an advantage
Experience in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce
