One of the world's most popular beach resorts

Located on the southern part of Thailand’s Andaman coast, Krabi is a bewildering archipelago of islands that seem to rise out of the sea. Nature is abundant here, and there are plenty of caves and waterfalls to explore inland. Some of the beaches are only accessible by boat, so you really will be able to escape.

Things to do

BEACHES
Your luxury hotel puts a string of world -class beaches right on your doorstep. In Krabi itself there are plenty of coves and bays to relax on. Or you could travel out to the smaller outlying islands like Koh Lanta and stroll along untouched stretches of sand.

CULTURE
Although Krabi may be catering more and more to the tourist industry, with international supermarkets, you’ll still find signs of traditional Thai heritage all around the province. The largest island is home to the Chao Le, the ‘sea gypsies’, who lead a fascinating lifestyle and fish the local waters.

SPORTS
You won’t be surprised to hear that there are plenty of watersports to enjoy in Krabi, ranging from kayaking to snorkelling. But what you might not know is that this is a haven for rock climbers too. Climbers come from all over the world to tackle the soaring rocky outcrops.

Top Tip from SLH

If you’re here in November, you can take part in the Loi Krathong festival. Wish for good luck by letting folded banana leaves float off into the ocean.
