Introducing St. James

Glorious beaches. Near perfect weather all year round. Luxury hotels and exclusive restaurants offering fine dining. It’s little wonder St. James is such a hit with international celebrities. But everyone is welcome here, with fascinating history and beguiling local culture to explore – making every stay memorable.

Things to do

SPORTS
With impossibly clear water just off the beach at St. James, you won’t be surprised to learn that there are a huge variety of water sports to try. From scuba diving to swimming with turtles, you can do just about everything. On land, the golf is world class and, of course, Barbados is a country mad about cricket.

LANDMARKS
St. James Parish Church dates back to the 1690s and you can take a guided tour around this historical landmark. It’s a small and intimate church, and you may be lucky enough to witness a traditional wedding taking place while you’re here.

DRINK
Barbados has some of the purest water in the world, and you can drink it straight from the tap. Be that as it may, you’ll doubtless want to try the local rum while you’re here. Sip a cocktail at your luxury beach bar, or pop into a rum shop to meet the locals.

Top Tip from SLH

You’ll probably see a lot of the locals eating flying fish, a very popular dish. Just a word of warning, the accompanying yellow sauce is very hot!
