ART
Just 9km from the glamour of Nice and Cannes, Mougins is a mecca for art lovers – like many people before and since, Picasso fell in love with the place. He moved here in 1961 and it remained his home for the rest of his life. Today as you wander the meandering streets, you will discover numerous fascinating art galleries to browse.
NATURE
Around Mougins you can escape into the peaceful Provencal countryside. Nearby is a small lake, the Etang de Fontmerie, overflowing with lotus flowers. It’s thought to be the largest concentration of this exotic bloom anywhere in France.
FOOD & DRINK
Despite its size, Mougins is big on fine dining. In fact there are around 50 restaurants, from the very grand, to excellent yet modestly priced terrace bistros. In a restored 16th-century mill near the village you will find Moulin de Mougins – a very special dining spot indeed.
