SHOPPING
At some point during your stay in Mykonos you are bound to wander down Matoyianni Street, a narrow pedestrianised treasure trove of shops and boutiques. Here you’ll find all sorts to tempt you – from jewellery to clothes and souvenirs.   

NATURE
During a storm back in 1954, Petros the pelican found refuge on Mykonos and stayed ever since. The islanders took a shine to him and after his death replaced him with a new pelican. The tradition continues, so keep your eyes peeled to spot Petros’ latest incarnation.

HISTORY
There are plenty of museums on the island that are well worth a visit. The Aegean Maritime Museum contains a fascinating display of regional boats and seafaring craft, while the Panagia Paraportiani church seems hewn out of the rock itself.
