BEACHES
From hidden coves to sea caves and grottoes, Praiano’s coastline is truly enchanting. Head to La Gavitella for sweeping views across to the island of Capri. Blessed with more hours of sunlight than any other beach along the Amalfi Coast, it’s perfect for watching the sun set, too.
LANDMARKS
You could spend days discovering the churches of Praiano. Each one, dotted in and around the village, has its own character. The cliffside Chiesa Santa Maria a Castro has panoramic views, while Chiesa SS. Annunziata is on the beach itself. But many come here to see Chiesa di San Luca. Inside there are 16th-century paintings by Giovanni Bernardo, but step outside and look up – the dome is made from blue and white majolica tiles and a work of art in itself.
FOOD & DRINK
Peppered with citrus groves, the Amalfi Coast is known for its lemons. In Praiano, you could book a private tour and tasting session at Il Gusto della Costa – makers of limoncello. This zesty liquor is best served ice cold and perfect to sip on balmy evenings. Don’t leave without sampling the cheeses of the Campania region, either. Try creamy mozzarella in a salad with ripe tomatoes, or provolone dolce (sweet) and piccante (sharp).
