It may hark back to Roman times, but the thriving student community of Ljubljana keeps the city young. The mixture of Italian and Art Nouveau architecture is unique, and as the city is so compact that everything will be within walking distance of your luxury hotel.

Things to do

CULTURE
Ljubljana plays host to ten international festivals every year, and has a distinguished musical history too. With an art academy and numerous art galleries, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.

SHOPPING
There are lots of department stores, but you’ll find a more traditional way to shop too. The Central Market sells a wide range of local produce, and Sunday’s flea market is worth a visit.

LANDMARKS
Don’t miss the Triple Bridge, designed by Ljubljana-born architect Joze Plecnik. It’s your gateway to the Old Town with its two squares and charming medieval buildings.
