Introducing Forest Row

In the heart of the Sussex countryside, close to the charming River Medway, you’ll find one of the delights of the South East. Forest Row is ideally situated for getting out and about in the countryside or enjoying yourself on the Forest Way path.

Things to do

NATURE
A converted railway line the Forest Way path runs from nearby East Grinstead through to Groombridge and passes through a number of pretty villages. Hire a bike and enjoy a day cycling through the heart of the English countryside.

WATER
Weir Wood Reservoir is close to the town and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is one of the largest areas of open water in Sussex and you might see a number of birds here.

LANDMARKS
You’ll see many traditional Sussex cottages in Forest Row. But a more modern landmark to look out for is a plaque commemorating John F. Kennedy’s visit here back in 1963.

Top Tip from SLH

If you’re feeling very adventurous the Forest Way is part of the Cuckoo Trail and links up to the cycle route from London to Paris.
