A boutique resort in the ‘birthplace of America,’ near the base of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains

Virginia’s beautiful countryside is an eye-pleasing tapestry of rolling hills and forested dales. This is the valley deep, mountain high setting for Keswick Hall – a turn-of-the-century estate reimagined as a restful, contemporary escape. With restaurants created by culinary icon Jean-Georges Vongerichten, an 18-hole Full Cry golf course by Pete Dye, and a pool perfectly positioned to watch the sun set, it ticks every boutique hotel box.

Step into your Estate Rooms at Keswick Hall and you’ll instantly feel like lord or lady of this particular manor. Their period blueprint is preserved, while contemporary lighting and plush beds bring a modern touch to the timeless style. Each night, an artisan chocolate will be placed on your pillow. Meanwhile, Premier Suites elevate the luxury experience with fireplaces, dining tables and spa-like bathrooms - all beautifully scented with Dawn Meadow, the floral fragrance of the hotel blended from grass, herbs and flowers native to the Keswick Hall grounds.

Outdoors, the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains cast a cobalt haze across the horizon, and the surrounding landscape is criss-crossed with orchards and lakes. Family-run vineyards offer wine tastings, while nearby Charlottesville is the place to dip into the history and culture of the ‘birthplace of America’. If you only do one thing, be sure to visit Monticello: Thomas Jefferson’s home is just a short drive from the hotel.
