The location is perfect. The terraces are amazing. The staff took the teddy bear of our kid by mistake and the director was thoughtful in the way he handled this issue. The rooms are very comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Principal. Entering on the ground floor and taking the lift to the reception on the 6th made for a unique arrival. The staff were all very friendly and approachable. We had a meal in Atico on our second night and the food was very enjoyable. Breakfast was great with Read more[SPLIT]Read lessa choice of continental and a la carte options. The terraces on the 6th and 7th floor were perfect for enjoying cocktails. Our room upgrade was appreciated. It was specious and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is perfectly placed for all that Madrid has to offer. I was particularly impressed with the doorman (I'm really sorry I can't recall his name) who greeted me by name each day. I'd certainly recommend staying here.

We stayed at the Principal in September. Great location perfectly placed for the old town in one direcion and the museums and high end shopping in the other direction. We found all the staff very helpful and the hotel well maintained. I particularly enjoyed the sushi option on the roof terrace.
