Things to do
SPORT
Winter transforms Obergurgl with a glistening carpet of snow. The village is surrounded by wide ski slopes, with plenty of options for beginners to practice their skills. Or you could head off-piste to explore more of the mountains. Away from the slopes, you could hone your swing at the indoor golf course. And when the snows melt, explore walking trails or go mountaineering with a private guide.
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
Obergurgl is known for its welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of activities for families and children. You could glide across the ice at the open-air ice rink, and try your hand at curling. Or you could take the gondola up to nearby Hochgurgl to race down thrilling toboggan runs.
APRÈS SKI
Unwind after a day on the slopes with a warming drink in a traditional Austrian lodge. Obergurgl’s après ski scene is relaxed, with gourmet restaurants serving dishes using local mountain produce, and bars hosting live music evenings. A few times a week, the slopes are thrown open for flood-lit night skiing. After which you could retreat to your hotel bar to sample Austrian schnapps or chilled cocktails.
