Things to do

SPORT
Right at the entrance to the Zillertal Ski Arena, Zell am Ziller is an ideal base for winter sports. Climb aboard the cable car to discover countless downhill ski runs, perfect for beginners right up to seasoned pros. Or stay closer to the village and explore miles of cross-country ski routes. At the end of each day, wrap chilly hands around a warming gluhweinback in your boutique hotel.

NATURE
It’s not just the ski season that brings explorers and daredevils to Zell am Ziller. In summer, the snow melts away and a web of hiking, biking and climbing routes open up all around the Zillertal and Gerlostal valleys. You could even take to the skies with a paragliding lesson to see the landscape open out below you like a map.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES
There’s all sorts of ways to keep families busy in Zell am Ziller. Take a ride on the steam railway for magical views of the mountains. Or for something faster, hop on the Zillertal Arena Coaster. This toboggan rollercoaster whizzes over 1,000 metres down the valley – and is open year round. In winter, ski schools specially for children will keep little ones entertained while you hit the slopes.
