Introducing Lipperswil

In a fairytale landscape of Swiss peaks, waterways and church spires, sits peaceful Lipperswil – a small town in a spectacular setting. Follow hiking or cycling trails through the countryside and you’ll come across pretty villages, manor houses and orchards. Stop to sample local cider, made from the region’s famous apples. And be sure to make your way to Lake Constance. Then return to your boutique hotel to plan tomorrow’s adventures.

Things to do

SPORT
On the shores of Lake Constance and looking out to the Alpstein Mountains, Lipperswil Golf Club is an idyllic spot to play a round or two. Pick from a 9-hole or 18-hole course, practice green, or book some private tuition with a PGA professional to hone your swing.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES
For anyone with children, a visit to this part of Switzerland is rarely complete without a day at Conny-Land. From a dinosaur park and space centre to sea lion centre, there’s plenty to keep little ones, and grown-ups, entertained. Go on a treetop adventure in the indoor jungle. Climb aboard a family raft on Voodoo Island. Or brave an adrenalin-fuelled rollercoaster ride.

NATURE
No visit would be complete without a trip to Lake Constance. Bordering Switzerland, Germany and Austria, this 64km stretch of water is a European beauty spot. Hop aboard a cruise boat or bring a bike and follow the lake’s cycle path, stopping to discover the small, medieval towns, country inns and castles dotted along the shore. Try your hand at watersports. Or seek out a pebbled beach for a picnic – including local apples, of course.

Top Tip from SLH

On an excursion to Lake Constance, stop at Arenenberg Castle. Set in landscaped parkland, it was home to a young Napolean III and inside you’ll find a museum in his honour.
