Introducing Turners Hill

Situated on a high point of the Weald, a ridge of heavy clay soil to the South East of England, Turners Hill is ideally placed if you want to escape from it all into the wilderness – or simply gaze out at the countryside. There are lovely walks across the Weald, or perhaps you just want to indulge in some serious pampering in your luxury hotel spa.

Things to do

LANDMARKS
Turners Hill’s Victorian and older buildings have kept their original character to make this a village that’s very pleasant on the eye. With two pubs and two churches, the village has been designated a conservation area.

SPORT
The recreation ground in the centre of Turners Hill has facilities for cricket, football, netball and tennis. There are two football teams in the town, and you may well see a match being played while you’re here. The village is also on the route of the London to Brighton annual bike ride.

DAY TRIPS
If you’re seeking out some serious thrills, visit Tulleys Farm. Here you can try your hand at archery, take a ride on a quad bike or have a go on a hovercraft. Step up to the plate and have a go – you can even try to master axe throwing!

Top Tip from SLH

If you’re walking in the Weald and spot a big animal, don’t be alarmed. You may well have encountered a wild boar.
