Eilert Smith Hotel is a small hotel that makes a big impression. Named after the local architect who created the original functionalist building, its curved lines and monochrome exterior are 1930s all over. Inside, this Nordic-chic escape creates a modernist base for exploring the city. But with a boutique collection of rooms and suites – each an original – and a triple Michelin-starred restaurant here, this hotel is a destination in its own right.

Being small means every detail is perfectly formed. Behind each door, from the Deluxe Double to the Superior Suite, are fresh white tones, wooden accents and personal kitchens – for locally brewed coffee through to pre-supper wine. And when it comes to dinner, it could be at one of Norway’s landmark restaurants. RE-NAA calls Eilert Smith Hotel home and counts three Michelin stars amongst its accolades. This singular penthouse promises knock-your-socks-off panoramas of Stavanger and its harbour – with wall-length windows that curve around its private terrace. Our second home in Stavanger

This is our third stay at Eilert Smith in just a few years, and we will be back again soon. We always feel very welcome, and we have been so well taken care of throughout all our stays. The architectural gem of a building is beautifully restored, as are the rooms, with very comfortable beds, generous Read more[SPLIT]Read lesscurtains, and comfortable furniture. During our last stay we were lucky to get a beautiful sea view. The breakfast is delicious and always delivered on time.

The staff were incredibly attentive, even with passing information they caught wind of. When the manager found out I was pregant they made sure to provide excellent alternatives, incredibly professional while making you feel very taken care of.

Amazing hospitality

The room was absolutely gorgeous and included everything in the minibar. We were welcomed in the room by several hand written notes and a bottle of wine. the staff couldn't have been friendlier. perfect experience.
