With its bold murals, striking sculptures and colourful palette, Galleria Vik is part hotel and part modern art gallery. It taps into Milan’s creative spirit, turning bedroom walls into canvases and corridors into exhibition spaces. Each room and suite bears the hallmark of a renowned artist – meaning no two spaces (or stays) are the same.

There’s the ‘Rendo’ Deluxe Gallery Room, with its vivid primary colour blocks framing the bed. And the Adriano Pompa Gallery Suite that has a mezzanine-level bedroom beneath a Renaissance-esque mural. Two restaurants complete the picture: VBart & Restaurant for dawn-to-dusk food and drinks, and I Dodici Gatti that’s dedicated to wood-fired pizza.

Further afield, Milan’s best-loved landmarks, restaurants and art galleries circle Galleria Vik. In fact, there’s something to see on every via that runs outside the hotel. Take in the Gothic Duomo, Palazzo Marino and Teatro all Scala, stopping off for a plate of Risotto alla Milanese and Aperitivo. And be sure to tour the galleries that inspire Galleria Vik’s artistic side: San Fedele, Massimo de Carlo and Osservatorio Fondazione Prada.

Less bedroom portfolio, more art collection, every room and suite at Galleria Vik has an identity all of its own. Each singular design is the brainchild of a distinctive artist – from Giuseppe Gonella and Pino Pinelli, to Felipe Cardena and Shinya Sakurai. So, when you open the door to yours, it could be a surrealist space, an abstract design or a bathroom installation created completely from marble. And there are no televisions here – after all, at Galleria Vik the art is the star of the show.

A delicious duo

The two sides to Galleria Vik are expressed in its restaurants. VBart & Restaurant echoes the artistic (and musical) sentiments of the hotel, transforming from a bright breakfast spot to an after-dinner lounge for wine and mellow beats. Meanwhile I Dodici Gatti Pizzeria was named after the 12 protected cats of Milan’s Galleria, connecting this creative pizzeria with its setting. Today, it’s the only restaurant up on the Galleria rooftops – where the cats call home.

Milan at your feet

You can't beat the location actually IN the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele. Duomo a stone's throw a way, the Scala as well and of course designer shopping in the Galleria. And I loved my room with a view with a balcony opening up into the actually Galleria it was sleeping in a part of history. The service Read more[SPLIT]Read lesswas nice and helpful when needed but I did come back once mid day to find my room still unmade. And while I like the idea of a hotel as art gallery, some parts were too quirky and discombobulated. The lobby I found dark and odd with its massive sculpture. I didn't hate it, but I can't say it was welcoming either. Though your friendly doorman made everyone feel welcome. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay there again

Luxurious. Modern. Each room is unique. The "open" bathroom featuring as " more open then closed and private " takes lot of getting used to. The noise from corridors is rather loud.

Pizza fans can indulge in an expansive assortment of traditional and creative wood fired Neapolitan style pizzas crafted from the finest ingredients including homemade mozzarella. Menu also showcases pasta and wine options. Guests can also enjoy the pleasant outdoor terrace overlooking the remarkable Galleria rooftops which provide unique and impressive views of the Milan skyline.

Served Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Guests of Galleria Vik Milano enjoy healthy and seasonal food and beverages at Pellico Otto the inspirational art gallery restaurant overlooking the famous bull of the Galleria. The restaurant features white stucco veneziano and upholstered walls complimented by an innumerable variety of colorful marble tables.
