Grand Hotel Angiolieri

We loved the pool, the staff and the charming hotel. Rooftop terrance was a beautiful spot for watching the one of the prettiest sunsets we have ever seen. Incredible view of Mt. Vesuvius from the room and infinity edge pool. Hotel is ocated in a far less touristy area than other area hotels (Sorrento, Read more[SPLIT]Read lessPositano, Capri, etc.) which made you feel like you were experienceing "real Italy".

It’s actually extremely challenging to fault this wonderful boutique style hotel. Adopting a ridiculously hard line, my only trifling criticisms are the absence of a proper ceiling or wall mounted shower and a coffee machine in the room. Everything else was just perfect. For me it is a great sign Read more[SPLIT]Read lesswhen a hotel promptly and obligingly responds to pre - arrival emails and my thanks go out especially to the charming Adrianna and for her very warm welcome on arrival. Check in was a breeze with immediate assistance offered with our luggage from the entrance by I recall Ricki and valet parking our car. The convenience of the on site basement complimentary parking with easy access mustn’t be overlooked. Within minutes we were in our glorious Deluxe sea view room with its massive terrace and unforgettable views across the Bay of Naples. The room was gorgeously furnished and appointed with extensive upmarket amenities and plenty of towels! Whilst a coffee machine was absent, a tea tray was available and replenished daily. Images of the hotel on line don’t do justice to the extensive and beautifully maintained public areas - favourites for us were the roof top terrace, terrace bar and the infinity pool. After having previously stayed in Sorrento, I found the location ideal - well away from the hordes of day trippers and packaged tourists. Breakfast was another daily lingering highlight with high quality offerings, great coffee and even prosecco to start your day served both outside on the truly “wow” shaded terrace or inside. Housekeeping didn’t miss a beat - prompt and comprehensive and included evening turn down. The hotel exudes style and elegance and with less than 40 rooms has a sophisticated ambiance from its guests and in fact after a month in southern Italy proved our very favourite of the entire trip.
