Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville

Discover 17th-century manor charm near Normandy’s stylish coast

It’s difficult to know what’s most impressive about Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville. Its beautifully restored Norman manor house? Or perhaps the fact that it was a favourite of one of France’s most famous playwrights, Pierre Corneille? Its location is pretty inspiring, too. Circled by six acres of sublime gardens, Les Manoirs is only a short drive to the coast and the seaside town of Deauville.

The way this boutique hotel interweaves history and contemporary comforts is key to its character. Dotted across the manor house and nine cottages, rooms and suites contrast crisp white and pastel tones with original fireplaces and exposed wooden beams. Downstairs in The Great Lounge, guests can enjoy everything from petit déjeunerRead more[SPLIT]Read less to drinks at sundown. There’s also a heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna – as well as pétanque for sunny days.

As its name suggests, the hotel is the ideal doorway to Deauville and Normandy’s charms. Stroll down Les Planches, Deauville’s famous 1920s beach-side boardwalk. Soak up the atmosphere at Le Touques, the racecourse founded by the Duke de Morny, or play a round on one of the town’s smart golf courses. When it’s time to eat, don’t miss the region’s famous oysters, scallops and Camembert cheese – washed down with a glass of poiré (pear cider).

Enjoy your stay!

Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville Gourmet

Cuisine from coast to countryside

Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville celebrates the best of the land and sea – including some of the world’s finest apples. Start with an apple tasting platter in The Great Lounge. Learn about the tradition of le trou Normand and Canapville’s famous calvados (apple brandy). Then dive into the food scene for everything from creamy cheeses and salt-marsh lamb to teurgoule (cinnamon rice pudding) – keeping your eyes peeled in autumn for festivals dedicated to cider, scallops and herrings.

Les Manoirs des Portes de Deauville Beach

Belle epoque at the beach

People have been flocking to this part of France for decades, since Deauville became a stylish resort in the 1800s. And at Les Manoirs, you’re right on its doorstep. Spend lazy days at the beach under a colourful parasol, or immersed in Art Deco glamour at the Pompeian sea baths. Saddle up for a horseback ride along the beach at sunset, or escape the bustle with a stroll along the coast – followed by a post-walk in-room massage back at Les Manoirs. There’s plenty of culture too, with the town hosting its annual American Film Festival in September.

Lovely place in rural Normandy

The property is beautiful and well kept, staff is most welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere is just great. We loved our room wich was spacious enough and located in a small building. The Hotel has no own restaurant for lunch or dinner, but there is a great local restaurant in 3 mins by foot, with Read more[SPLIT]Read lessproper gastronomical experience. The only thing to be aware of is very slow internet connection on the Wi-Fi.

A particularly pleasant stay in a very beautiful building

The absence of a restaurant is not a handicap but on the contrary leaves a great freedom. The staff is particularly attentive and pleasant. The manor has been beautifully restored with a refined interior design while preserving the historical elements. Very good stay.
