Bedrooms are a warm embrace of Finnish design, created to immerse you in the rhythms of the forest. Log walls, natural stone and tactile textiles create an atmosphere that is both grounding and refined. Choose from grand suites, housed within the Old Schoolhouse, cosy A-frame cabins with forest views, elegant apartments which once housed the school’s teachers, or a gem of lakeside villa – complete with private sauna and ice hole for plunging.

Skýra Retreat excels at curating the perfect escape, with a range of monthly experiences on offer. These vary in their focus, from wellness to embracing seasonal shifts – and many are based around the hotel’s exceptional Nordic Spa. You might find yourself enjoying a Nordic breakfast, before morning yoga or guided forest bathing, followed by the Finnish afternoon ritual of pullakahvit (coffee and fresh pastries.) Evenings bring Folklore Sauna Sessions and thermal cycles at the Nordic Spa, before your day ends with a meditative sound bath.

The restaurant at Skýra Retreat is set inside the pine-lined gymnasium of the Old Schoolhouse. With basketball hoops replaced by glittering chandeliers, this is a space full of atmosphere, echoing with history and inviting guests to write new stories of their own. And the a la carte menus follow suit, crafting staple Nordic ingredients using classic French techniques. The dining experience is intimate, cosy and rooted in the same concept of nourishment for mind, body and soul that echoes throughout the Retreat. Expect the purest of natural ingredients, prepared with real flair and joyful celebration.

Served Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Set in a restored 1950s schoolhouse - an intimate 30-seat restaurant serves table-served Nordic breakfasts- light lunches - pullakahvit coffee and pastry breaks and refined French-Nordic dinners.

At Skýra Retreat, peace lies in balance, so it naturally follows that their exceptional Nordic Spa marries warmth with cold. Guests are invited to awaken their senses, embracing high contrast thermal cycles: intense heat and chilling sensations encouraging deeper connection to the body, and ushering in the deepest relaxation. Unlimited access to the spa is available to all guests, but be sure to book a private treatment, such as the Herbal Embrace which combines massage with an oil blend including meadowsweet, calendula and rose.
