Dining at Vila Santa Teresa is centred around contemporary versions of the family’s most prized recipes – paying homage to the great-grandparents who first bought the villa. The hotel garden grows many of the herbs and vegetables that go into the fresh, seasonal menu served in the formal, but relaxed atmosphere of the Beatriz Restaurant. Here, chefs take their culinary cues from classic French techniques and bold Brazilian Bahia ingredients – creating dishes such as Shrimp in Tucupi with uarini farinha, an Amazonian cassava flour. After dinner, settle into cosy Bar Alberto for an expertly prepared nightcap.

The family's patriarch, Alberto bought the property in 1938 and, together with his wife Beatriz, built his official residence here. There were five decades of great happiness and achievements, raising children and grandchildren in an environment of exuberant nature and appreciation for the good things in life. The names of the restaurant and bar are a tribute to the great-grandparents of the 4th generation of the family.

Served Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner The menu, inspired by the family's favourite recipes, is a fusion of French and Brazilian cuisine, especially from the Amazon region. With fresh ingredients and spices grown in our garden, you can choose your preferred place for lunch and dinner. The terrace, with the beautiful view of the city, in the garden or a slightly more formal atmosphere, in our dining room.

Small, private, serene and tailored around how you like to rest, recharge or rejuvenate. Indulgent spa treatments at Vila Santa Teresa draw on Ayurvedic and Chinese traditions alongside modern aesthetic techniques, including organic garden herbs used to make natural scrubs. Massages and holistic therapies take place in a peaceful treatment room. Outside, the wellness theme continues with yoga sessions, Pilates, meditation or endorphin-boosting functional training – the Rio skyline replacing gym studio walls, and the fresh sea breeze making you feel on top of the world.
