Environmentally Conscious

On track to become carbon neutral (and eventually carbon negative), WITTMORE HOTEL carefully follows a sustainability plan created through its ongoing GreenME partnership, exclusively using LED lighting, recycling wherever possible, and switching to an 100% green electricity supplier. The hotel has removed single-use plastic from its operations and collects plastics from the sea in collaboration with Gravity Wave, a Spanish social enterprise dedicated to cleaning the Mediterranean with traditional fishermen and recycling waste into valuable products. The rooftop and vertical gardens are maintained by drip irrigation systems, and swathes of surrounding countryside are reforested by the WITTMORE’s parent company, Anima Hotels.

Cultural Custodians

Set in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, WITTMORE HOTEL encourages guests to visit nearby attractions with its interactive map – simply scan the QR code for local points of cultural interest and historical significance. The hotel hosts rotating exhibitions by Barcelona-based artists in the lobby and restaurant areas, which change every two months. Alongside poetry recitals and literary festivals, the WITTMORE library is stocked by an LGBTQ+ book specialist with thought-provoking reading material each month. Special Catalan days are always celebrated, including the Diada de Sant Jordi, by placing a book and rose in every room and detailing these traditions to guests.

Community Minded

Working closely with local recruiters for both key positions and the wider team, the WITTMORE’s staff is mostly made up of Catalonians who feel passionately about Barcelona and its surrounds. The hotel’s CONTRABAN restaurant supports local suppliers by favouring Catalan produce, including cheeses from nearby dairy farms and an exclusively regional wine list – even the chocolates left on your pillow at turn-down are from a local artisan confectioner. In addition to volunteering in local hospitals and dedicating resources to community projects, the WITTMORE makes ongoing contributions to local churches, such as restoring the city’s only large Baroque-style organ at Sant Felip Neri.

Lovely boutique hotel!

Our room was sparkling clean and well appointed. The best part is the location of the hotel and having a very quiet room. We never felt the hustle bustle of Barcelona even though we were so close to everything! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Tucked away in the Gothic Quarter, this ultra cool boutique hotel welcomed us with open arms! We were made to feel very special with some bubbly Cava by the rooftop pool! So chic! The room was fabulous!!! One of our favorite stays anywere, and we travel extensively throughout the world! The room Read more[SPLIT]Read lesswas so well thought out; tasteful and elegant, yet sexy. Best shower ever and lovely tolietries! Excellent breakfast that made us linger. A true sanctuary!

A whole vibe

We loved the deep, moody decor and vibe of this hotel. It is beautiful! We got the tiny room which was definitely tiny but again, very nicely decorated. The breakfast stood out - the waiter was so, so friendly and the food was delicious. Location is great.
