Distribution Executive
The Position
Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ is seeking a Distribution Executive.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a global brand that delivers reservation services for small luxury independent hotels around the world.
SLH is the champion of the small independent hotelier and provides tools to compete in the marketplace. It is vital that our reservation platform operates 24/7 and drives reservations to hotels seamlessly.
As part of a small Distribution team, the responsibilities of the Distribution Executive role include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for updating hotel content in the CRS SynXis and liaise with other partners for the correct update of content on third party platforms (e.g. Hilton)
• Responsible for updating content and documents onto the hoteliers’ communication platform (myslh.com) and assisting other departments
• Supporting the Product Integration team with the new SLH hotels build process (Connecting To The Brand).
• Assisting with the loading of SLH marketing programmes (rates) within the SLH reservation system
• Maintaining the quality of the SLH Central Reservation System SynXis and offering technical support to the Revenue Account Managers and Hoteliers, opening and following up cases with SHS Customer Support.
• Monitoring the SLH Helpdesk and actioning all queries from member hotels and SLH Team members from all departments in a professional and timely manner
• Preparing and updating supporting documents, manuals and presentations for internal and external use
• Assisting with any other ad-hoc Distribution opportunities and challenges of the day
Secondary Tasks
• Handling requests for set up, on-going maintenance and troubleshooting of the OTAs Channel Connect functionality within the SLH reservation system
• Handling GDS rate linking requests and GDS troubleshooting queries
• Assisting with the setup, on-going maintenance and troubleshooting of CRS interface integrations with PMS, RMS and Channel Managers.
• Assisting with the set-up and ongoing maintenance of the SLH Internet Booking Engine for hotel websites
• Timely preparation of ad hoc reports for internal and external use
• Maintaining guest privacy and organisation reputation by keeping information confidential
• Responsible for ensuring that the highest level of customer satisfaction is guaranteed to every guest query
Reporting Lines
This key role reports to the SVP of Distribution Management and also to the Director of Distribution Operations in regards to the daily operations and procedures.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Posses experience in the hotel industry
• Have a working knowledge of at least one major PMS
• Have a working knowledge of at least one major Channel Management system
• Have previous experience of at least one PMS/CM<->CRS interface implementation and ongoing maintenance
Desired Skills & Experience
• Have a working knowledge of SHS SynXis CR
• Have a working knowledge of an RMS and GDS and/or other travel distribution systems.
• Have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and preferably also Word and PowerPoint
• Have great analytical abilities to interpret statistical data and have thorough attention to detail
• Be confident and able to speak to hotels, often in technical terms and in stressful circumstances
• Have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure completion of projects
• Be highly organised and self-motivated, be a great team player with a strong ability to self-manage
• Preferably be qualified with a bachelor’s degree and with at least 3 years’ experience in the hotel industry (ideally within the luxury sector), preferably Front of House customer service and/or reservation/revenue
• Be fluent in English and with a second language (preferable)
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
