 Feel free to tip in hotels and some restaurants – and also be aware that friendly bargaining is part of the culture here.

When To Go

If you’re hoping to visit Chitwan, bear in mind the monsoon season is roughly mid-June until the last days of September. Trekkers should pencil in October to November for Everest and Annapurna routes – although first-timers will find the gentler routes pleasant in spring.
